This study aimed to characterize men's perceptions of their paternal involvement with their children before, during, and shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic. The study involved thirty adult men residing in Petrópolis-RJ, fathers of children enrolled in private schools. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The fathers were recruited through the snowball technique, considering inclusion criteria (having a biological or adopted child enrolled in elementary school, residing with the child in Petrópolis-RJ, and agreeing to participate by signing the informed consent form). The interviews were recorded, and a thematic content analysis was conducted on the responses to the open-ended questions, with percentages calculated. Response percentages were also calculated for closed-ended questions. The results revealed a perceived increase in paternal involvement during the pandemic, which remained higher after the pandemic compared to the pre-pandemic period.
