Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to the Revista Científica da FAMINAS are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers, who assess the academic, scientific, and technological merit of the work (peer review). The evaluations follow a double-blind process, meaning that reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. This format ensures an unbiased assessment of the article, avoiding potential conflicts of interest or favoritism between authors and reviewers. The double-blind peer review process enhances the quality and validity of the articles published in the journal.

Reviewers assess the following criteria:

  9. Whether the results are clearly and effectively presented;
  10. Whether illustrations, tables, figures, and/or graphs are well defined and clearly present the article’s results;
  11. Whether the discussion and conclusion are consistent with the results;
  12. Whether the references are current and relevant to the topic and findings;
  13. Whether the article is well written and free of spelling errors;
  14. Whether the article includes, preferably in the “Methods” section, approval from a Research Ethics Committee when the study involves humans, animals, or radioactive materials;
